LUPIEN, Jean-David (Quebec)
Jean-David Lupien was born in Montréal in 1981. Initially an electric guitarist, he shifted towards classical guitar and studied at the Marie-Victorin College under Jacques Joubert, and later at the University of Montréal under Peter McCutcheon, where he obtained a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Guitar Performance (2008). His interest in flamenco guitar led him to complete studies at the Rotterdam’s Conservatoire (Netherlands) with Ricardo Mendeville, Alexander Preuss, and Paco Peña. Composer as well as performer, he concentrates on the guitar solo repertoire. He is an active soloist and accompanist,
besides teaching.
